Newly announced by BRINC, the Guardian drone combines advanced features like Starlink connectivity and emergency payloads to revolutionize how first responders operate.

BRINC, the Swedish startup known for its innovative law enforcement drones, has unveiled an upgrade that could redefine how public safety agencies operate. The company’s newest model, Guardian, is set to enter production later this year with a host of cutting-edge features designed to enhance response times and capabilities.

New Features of BRINC's Guardian Drone

The Guardian drone boasts several groundbreaking enhancements over its predecessors. One standout feature is the integration of Starlink satellite connectivity on every unit, making it the first commercially available drone with this capability. This ensures that even in remote or urban areas without reliable internet infrastructure, law enforcement can maintain real-time communication and data transfer.

Guardian’s flight time has been significantly extended to over an hour, allowing for longer missions without needing frequent recharges. Its top speed of more than 60 miles per hour makes it uniquely suited for pursuing vehicles in high-speed chase scenarios—a first among commercially available drones according to BRINC.

Emergency Payloads and Rapid Deployment

A key innovation is the drone’s ability to carry multiple payloads from its charging “nest.” These include essential emergency items such as a floatation device, defibrillator, epipens, and even Narcan—the drug used for reversing opioid overdoses. The nest can robotically swap batteries in about one minute, ensuring that Guardian remains operational without downtime.

This capability makes the Guardian drone an invaluable asset during critical situations where quick access to medical supplies or other emergency equipment could be life-saving. It represents a significant step forward in how first responders are equipped and deployed on the ground.
